SCHOLARSHIPS
Young orators can earn some of the most generous college scholarships available to high school students.
Over $203,500 in scholarships can be awarded each year.
The American Legion awards scholarships to the top four (4) finalists at the Colorado contest.
American Legion – Colorado
- 1st Place $3000
- 2nd Place $1500
- 3rd Place $1000
Our winner will represent Colorado at the National Finals on May 16-18, 2025 in Hillsdale, MI at Hillsdale College.
Quarterfinal and semifinal contests are scheduled for Saturday, May 17 with the finals scheduled for Sunday, May 18.
- Each Department (state) Winner who is certified into and participates in the National Contest’s First Round receives a $2,000 scholarship.
- Those who advance past the First Round receive an additional $2,000 scholarship.
- The overall National Contest Winner is awarded a $25,000 scholarship.
- Second Place receives a $22,500 scholarship.
- Third Place receives a $20,000 scholarship.
- The American Legion National Organization awards scholarships, which can be used at any college or university in the United States.
