SCHOLARSHIPS
Young orators can earn some of the most generous college scholarships available to high school students.
Over $203,500 in scholarships can be awarded each year.
The American Legion awards scholarships to the top four (4) finalists at the Colorado contest.
American Legion – Colorado
- 1st Place $3000
- 2nd Place $1500
- 3rd Place $1000
Our winner will represent Colorado at the National Finals in Hillsdale, MI at Hillsdale College. Date to be determined.
Dates for the Quarterfinal and semifinal contests are still to be determined.
- Each Department (state) Winner who is certified into and participates in the National Contest’s First Round receives a $2,000 scholarship.
- Those who advance past the First Round receive an additional $2,000 scholarship.
- The overall National Contest Winner is awarded a $25,000 scholarship.
- Second Place receives a $22,500 scholarship.
- Third Place receives a $20,000 scholarship.
- The American Legion National Organization awards scholarships, which can be used at any college or university in the United States.
